The coordinator helps to prepare for Orientation by organizing set-up and orientation roles for tutors and seniors, editing the script, and overseeing set-up to make sure everything is ready for the event.

Parents provide meals for students during Round Table Night. Sign up on Track It Forward.

The coordinator, committee members, and volunteers work to prepare all aspects for a successful Knight to Remember Dinner and Auction held during the fall semester. Silent and live auctions are held every year at A Knight to Remember. All auction items are collected through donations of businesses, families, and friends. Auction items include services, merchandise, and gift certificates. Contact the office to donate anytime! This event also provides many opportunities for parents to earn volunteer hours.

The coordinator plans and organizes 2 weeks for Staff Appreciation during the fall and spring semesters. Hours are NOT awarded for the gifts given to tutors and staff.

The coordinator and volunteers plan and organize the school-wide Raffle. The Raffle is held during the spring semester for all students, kindergarten – 12th grade. This event also provides many opportunities for parents to earn volunteer hours.

The coordinator, along with a team of junior parents, plans and organizes Knight Night. This Junior-Senior Banquet is a celebration honoring our seniors and recognizing participation in Discovering Greatness during the junior year. This formal dinner and festivities are a night not to be missed and a night which younger students look forward to.

The coordinator plans and organizes parents to provide lunch, prizes, and an egg hunt for RT groups on the Thursday before Easter. Volunteers are also responsible for cleaning up following the event.

The coordinator plans and organizes parents to provide refreshments and decorations for the Mastery with Honors Awards night. Volunteers are also responsible for cleaning up following the Awards Night.

The coordinator, along with a team of junior parents, plans and organizes refreshments and decorations for the Graduation Reception, following the Graduation Ceremony. Volunteers are also responsible for cleaning up following the reception.

Work with coordinator to cook/provide breakfast or lunches for staff meetings held every Wednesday.

Office staff needs substitutes each Wednesday and Thursday to cover the front desk during staff meetings and RT lunch. We also need parents who regularly file documents and records during office hours.

We occasionally need nurses during the school day when our nurses are absent.

Weekly cleaning help is required to help keep our classrooms clean. Supplies are provided and tasks include wiping chairs, tables, doors, windows, taking out trash, sweeping, and mopping, among other things. Sign up on the Track It Forward Events calendar.

Help is needed to maintain outdoor cleanliness. This includes tasks such as power washing, cleanup around AC units, and washing exterior windows. Volunteers need to provide their own power washer if needed. Water hoses are available at the school. Sign up on the Track It Forward Events calendar.

Launder towels, dust mops, etc. weekly. At times we have laundry that can be taken home to wash, but most can be done at school.

Photographer takes all student and staff photos in the fall. Parents assist in checking students in and keeping the flow of students running smoothly.

MCA offers the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and the SAT School Day, provided by the College Board. Volunteers help monitor the tests on dates TBA.

MCA provides vision, hearing, spinal, and acanthosis nigricans (pre-diabetes) screening for various grades, which is determined by Texas law. Volunteers will help the nurses with required health screening for students. Some jobs such as vision and hearing require certifications. If you are interested in being certified and helping yearly with this, please indicate that on the signup. Health Screenings are usually scheduled in October/November.

This job requires multiple helpers willing to sort and examine student books. Typically needed between April and August to check books as they come back from students and help assign books to the next student.

Physicians, nurses, and parent volunteers are needed each year in July/August to perform and operate an athletic physical clinic on multiple dates.

Work with Eric Littleton on jobs including data entry to the athletics website. Most of this work could be completed at home. Looking for someone experienced with graphics as well. Please indicate "graphics" next to your name if you can help with that on the signup.

Parents who drive team members to and from events/competitions may record their driving time toward their MCA Parent Service Hours, after fulfilling their extracurricular hours, but not to exceed half of the required school hours.

Organize the athletic uniform closet and help distribute/collect uniforms.

Help oversee purchasing/sales of concession goods for home games. Coordinate other volunteers.

Work with the sponsor and students to help build a book of memories. Most work can be done from home.

The Midland Classical Academy Robotics Club was established to inspire students’ interest and participation in science and technology. By competing in robot-building competitions, students work alongside adult mentors to fundraise, design, program, and build a working robot that performs tasks specified in the competition rules.

The Lady Knights Chorus is open to 7th–12th grade girls who wish to perform in a choir concert each semester. Students in this ensemble will also have the opportunity to compete in various competitions. Choir is an excellent way to build community across grade levels and to build confidence as students perform and compete. The Lady Knights Chorus meets weekly on Fridays from 1:30–3:00 p.m.

MCA offers participation in athletic teams during the school year for students in 7th–12th grades, including junior high, junior varsity, and varsity teams. MCA is a member of TAPPS and adheres to their rules. All MCA coaches volunteer their time to coach our students.

The Chess Club meets weekly at the Grammar School, and students compete at tournaments in the spring.
