Grammar School
Laying the Foundations
The Grammar School years are devoted to forming strong academic habits and joyful discipline. Students build mastery in reading, writing, mathematics, history, and Scripture while developing attentiveness, memory, and love for learning.
This stage emphasizes repetition, structure, and skill development. Students learn foundational facts, timelines, poetry, and Scripture that will support deeper reasoning in later years.
MCA’s Grammar School operates as a hybrid model. Students attend class on campus two and a half days each week. On home days, parents guide lessons and reinforce skills. Instruction is introduced and assessed in the classroom. Mastery is cultivated at home.
“For anybody who thinks they can’t homeschool — if you’re a mother, you can. They can do it, and they can do it well.”
— MCA Grammar School Parent

A fuller week, if you want it
Beyond the two-and-a-half-day core schedule, Grammar School families may add optional Friday enrichment classes — a chance for students to explore the arts and electives alongside the core curriculum.
