Graduation Plans
Three paths through the Upper School — each leading to a diploma that fits a student’s goals.
Midland Classical Academy is committed to recovering classical education and the Christian worldview in partnership with families. While we believe the Classical Graduation Plan is best for most students, we offer three ways for students to be enrolled at MCA.
Classical Graduation Plan
Students on the Classical Graduation Plan are enrolled in all available high school classes and receive a Classical Graduation Diploma upon completing 28 credits. Classical students are eligible for MCA-sponsored extracurricular activities, Round Table groups, the High School Retreat, and the American History Trip, and may apply to serve as an RT leader and Senior Assistant.

Foundational Graduation Plan
Students who apply and are accepted into the Foundational Graduation Plan are enrolled in four or more high school classes and receive a Foundational Graduation Diploma upon completing 22 or more credits. This plan requires a separate application and Dean’s approval. A Classical student is eligible to apply for the Foundational Graduation Plan at the end of the fall or spring semester of 9th grade; new students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade may also apply.

A Foundational application, student letter, and tutor letters of recommendation — along with the Dean’s view of the student’s overall involvement at MCA — are part of the evaluation.
Part-Time
Part-time students are enrolled in requested courses based on availability and prerequisites, and require a separate application and Dean’s approval. Part-time students receive a transcript for the courses they complete at MCA but are not eligible to receive a diploma or graduate from MCA. They are eligible to participate in a Round Table group and may apply for other MCA activities — RT leader, the High School Retreat, the American History Trip, and Senior Project — if they meet the requirements.
