
Mastery with Honors
During the Fall Semester:
Achieve excellence in class by:
- Meeting Mastery/Honors requirements with assignments (92.5%)
- Mastering most assignments (90%) the first time turned in
- Student is prepared regularly and participates in class consistently
- Student displays Godly Character in class and at school
Qualifying students will be designated as potential Mastery with Honors students by the end of the fall semester. This achievement will be denoted by the letters MQ for Mastery Qualifying for Honors.
During the Spring Semester:
The student may apply in January to receive Mastery with Honors. The student will propose a project agreed upon by the Tutor.
By mid-April the project must be completed. Students must maintain excellence in areas listed above for the Spring semester also.
Projects: Projects will be agreed upon by the student and the Tutor and must meet the following:
- Require 20 or more hours to complete.
- Take the student farther in the understanding of the class material.
- Give the student opportunity to serve fellow students, the family, or the community in accomplishing the project.
For prior Mastery with Honors students, at the Tutor’s discretion, and at the Tutor’s initiation, the student may do Mastery with Honors projects in the Fall.
